What is a Prosthodontist?
Dr. Miranda is a prosthodontist in Orlando. But, what exactly is a prosthodontist? A prosthodontist is an expert in the restoration and replacement of damaged teeth. To put it another way, a prosthodontist makes a smile look and function at its best. Unlike regular dentists, a prosthodontist is a unique specialist in the dental world.
After completing the standard four years of dental school, prosthodontists attend an extra three years of specialized dental training in an American Dental Association (ADA) post-doctorate program. A way to think of prosthodontists is that they are the "quarterback" of your dental health care staff. Dr. Atila Miranda confidently leads his team of dentists, dental hygienists, and other dental specialists to develop solutions for Orlando patient dental needs.

How is a prosthodontist different from other dentists and dental specialists?
The term “prostho” means replacement, and “dontist” means dealing with teeth. Essentially, prosthodontists are THE recognized experts when anything needs to be replaced in your mouth. This can range from a single tooth, multiple teeth, or all teeth and gums in the mouth. While many other dentists can do some of these treatments, our Orlando prosthodontists are the specialists dedicated to this type of care.
Why choose a prosthodontist?
You should choose a prosthodontist because of their advanced education and training, efficiency, and expertise with advanced technology. Prosthodontists are extensively trained in state-of-the-art techniques and procedures for treating complex dental conditions and restoring optimum function and esthetics.
Rigorous training and experience give prosthodontists a special understanding of the dynamics of a smile and the preservation of a healthy mouth.
